DIGIQUEST TV & VIDEO WORKSHOPS

Movie Production
Go on location to make a movie while learning how to shoot, direct and edit. You will be introduced to camera and audio equipment, shooting organization, the jobs of crews members, editing skills and the basics of producing, writing, directing and editing, all designed to let you create your own 5 to 7 minute "film" by the end of the class. This is an extremely educational, fun workshop in the Media Center's state-of-the-art digital classroom. At summer's end, the Media Center will host a public screening and awards ceremony, showcasing the Best of Digiquest 2009. All workshop projects will be featured on Cable Channel 28 in early September during the Media Center's annual Youth Video Festival.
Students should bring a bag lunch, water, and a light sweater. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided.
MARK WRIGHT is an award-winning producer/director with years of experience working in television and corporate video. He was the creator and the coordinator of the UC Santa Cruz Extension Video Arts program.

Movie Editing
Editing is the real key to movie-making and this class shows you both the tools of editing and the artistic decisions an editor makes. You will learn how to use Final Cut Pro, Live Type and Motion as well as the techniques professional editors use to make movies come alive, all in the Media Center's state-of-the-art digital classroom. All students will work on real projects that they will be able to take home on DVD to amaze family and friends. TV Studio Production
Be part of a studio production team that creates TV shows for our local cable channels and live webstream! Learn marketable media skills: producing, directing, cameras, audio, graphics, acting. Cover the latest in music, technology, sports, & more. Anything goes because it's your show: comedy hour, cooking demos, game shows, hip-hop performance, pet corner, youth forums. If you like being in front of the camera, you'll have the chance to star in your own show!
