It is recommended the Board approve the certificated personnel actions as presented.

C. Approval of Minutes


Action Item:
A. Resolution 2007-08.10 Ð Ordering School Bond Election and Authorizing Necessary Actions in Connection Therewith:
It is recommended the Board adopt a resolution ordering a bond election for June 3, 2008, and directing staff to do any and all things necessary to ensure the measure appears before the districtÕs voters on that date.

C. ACTION/DISCUSSION/INFORMATION ITEMS (cont.)

Action Items:
B. Acceptance of Donations Totaling $2,850,000 to Install Synthetic Turf on the Stadium Fields at Gunn and Palo Alto High Schools and to Improve the Lower Athletic Fields at Gunn High School:
It is recommended the Board accept donations in the amount of $2,850,000 for the noted projects.

C. Modification of Building Projects Budget and Authorization to Fund Construction Projects:
It is recommended the Board approve the budget allocations to the synthetic turf project and GunnÕs lower fields project and place the remaining balance in the Building Project Contingency.

D. ACTION/DISCUSSION/INFORMATION ITEMS (cont.)

Action & Information Items:
D. Authorization to Contract with Verde Design Inc. to Develop Plans for Improvements to the Lower Fields at Gunn High School:
It is recommended the Board authorize staff to contract with Verde Design Inc. to complete the design and construction administration for the Gun High School Lower Fields in the amount of $250,000 with a ten percent contingency of $25,000 for a total award of $275,000.

E. Authorization to Solicit Bids for Improvements at Both High School Stadium Fields and for Improvements to the Lower Fields at Gunn High School:
It is recommended the Board authorize bids for the installation of synthetic turf at Gunn and Palo Alto high schools and for field improvements to the Gunn High School Lower Fields. It is further recommended the Board accept donation (1) in the amount of $3,000,000 for the installation of synthetic turf at the high schools and (2) in the amount of $50,000 for the improvement to the Gunn Lower Fields.

F. Progress Report on New 35-meter Pool at Gunn High:
Staff will update the Board on the progress toward building a 35-meter pool at Gunn High School. No action will be taken.

G. CSBA Delegate Assembly Election:
The Board votes for delegates to CSBA. It is recommended the Board choose up to five candidates for Region 20. Dana Tom is one of the candidates.
