Approval of Consent Calendar:

A. Certificated Personnel Actions:
It is recommended the Board approve the certificated personnel actions as presented.

B. Classified Personnel Actions:
It is recommended the Board approve the classified personnel actions as presented.

C. Approval of Minutes:
It is recommended the Board approve the minutes of December 8 and 15, 2009.

D. Uniform Complaint (Williams Settlement and Valenzuela/CAHSEE Lawsuit Settlement) Quarterly Report:
The Board is required to review this quarterly report. There were no complaints for the period October 1 - December 31, 2009.




B. PUBLIC HEARING/ACTION ITEM

Public Hearing:

A. Parcel Tax Resolution 2009-10.08:
At the December 15, 2009, regular meeting, the public hearing on the resolution to approve an election for a parcel tax was postponed to January 12. 2010. The Board will conduct this public hearing.


Action Item:

A. Parcel Tax Resolution 2009-10.08:
The Board will consider approving a resolution to approve a parcel tax election. This item was discussed at the December 8, 2009, meeting. At the December 15, 2009, regular meeting, the public hearing and action were postponed to this meeting due to a change in the proposed election date.




C. INFORMATION ITEM/ACTION ITEMS

Information Item:

B. Report on Governor's Proposed Budget:
Staff will attend a conference on January 12 to hear an analysis of the governorŐs budget proposals. They will report to the Board at this meeting.


Action Items:

C. Adoption of Legally Aligned Board Policies:
The Board and staff have been discussing adoption of legally aligned policies. Discussions included a study session held earlier on January 12. The Board will consider the adoption at this regular meeting.

D. Student Discipline:
The Board will take action regarding discipline case 04-0910, a stipulated suspended expulsion.




D. BOND AND FACILITY ITEMS: DISCUSSION ITEM

A. Approval of Schematic Design for Group 1 Projects at Palo Alto High School:
The Board will discuss updated information regarding these group 1 projects. The recommendation is to approve the design of the new Math and History/Social Sciences building and the Media Arts Center projects at the next regular meeting.
