Award Winning Videos Produced at The Media Center

We pay tribute to those producers who have won accolades at the regional Western Access Video Excellence (WAVE) awards (Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Hawaii) and at the national Hometown Video awards.

The Western Access Video Excellence Awards were announced on October 24, 2008. Among the winners were four Media Center productions. We present them below. Click on the player to start. The Water Stalker

The Water Stalker is a takeoff on the horror film style, telling us the downside of water wasteage.  

Chess Diva

Lauren and Barbara are identical twins who are both rated among the top 100 women chess players in the country. Their show features local chess events and players, and they give tips on chess strategy.

If Kids Ruled the World / The Reusable Bag

Kids take over for a day at a local grocery store, telling us the virtues of the reusable shopping bag.

West Bay Game Night - CCS Championship Game

The Media Center Sports crew cover the memorable 2007 Football championship game between Menlo-Atherton and Palo Alto.

2008 WAVE Award Finalists

Neal's Place

Kenny Neal, an internationally recognized blues performer hosts, with guest blues artists for jam sessions and talks about what's happening in the world of blues. This episode features Kenny's daughter Syreeta Neal. This episode was honored at both the WAVE 2007 and Hometown Video 2008 events.

Try Bicycling!

Hosted by Dena Mossar and other members of the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC), this show promotes Bike To Work Day in May 2007, encouraging ordinary people to Try Bicycling for their work commute. Two local bicycle routes are featured: the Ellen Fletcher Bicycle Boulevard (presented by Ellen herself) and the Stevens Creek Trail.
